From 1 January 2009, SkanDek will comply with the new Eurocode requirements. This means the old thin-plate standard DS446 will be replaced by Eurocode 3: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Steel Constructions \u2013 Part 1-3: General rules \u2013 supplementary rules for cold-shaped elements and cladding of thin-plates\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n

The SkanDek elements are particularly well suited for large rectangular surfaces, where life span, assembly speed and large free spans are important for the total price of construction.<\/p>\n

The SkanDek elements consist of 100% inorganic materials, contributing to a very long life span.<\/p>\n

SkanDek wishes to meet the need of the engineer for quick and efficient calculation of roofs and separating floors under SkanDek management.<\/b><\/p>\n

When choosing carrier lines, the engineer often has to think out of the box. If it is possible to reduce some of the carrier lines in the design phase, it could reduce construction time significantly, which in turn would greatly affect total cost.<\/p>\n

SkanDek has therefore created a \u00e2\u20ac\u009dsimple\u00e2\u20ac\u009d program, where the user keys in the length and width relations, and the program will show the optimal carrier lines with regards to cost efficiency.<\/p>\n

This program, together with the stability report for the structure, gives the engineer an overview of the where the supporting walls should be placed in the static system. The program is based on a U-value of 0, 15 W\/m2*K and a beam height of 350 mm.<\/p>\n

When the optimal carrier lines have been determined, the engineer can utilise SkanDek\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s calculations for roofs and separating floors. These calculations are based on the new Eurocode norms. By choosing SkanDek the engineer can be assured that the result is in compliance with the new requirements. Please be aware, however, that in the calculation program, snow accumulation from, for instance, sheltering is based on an equal weight distribution on the entire SkanDek element, and it is therefore necessary to calculate the triangular weight. The combined weight distribution is calculated based on the maximum torque caused by snow accumulation.<\/p>\n
