The most common cause of moisture damage is roof soaking during the construction phase.<\/p>\n<p>Every action has responsibility for own work, thus also to avoid moisture in construction. For guidance the text of Chapter 4.1, subsection. 5, in Building 2010 appears explicitly:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"c1752\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<div id=\"c1757\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<ul>\n<li>Planning and design phase with a focus on avoiding materials and building solutions that are unnecessary moisture sensitive.<\/li>\n<li>The client demand and explicitly schedule to allow the necessary time for drying of building materials and constructions.<\/li>\n<li>At the client, if possible before the supply, making a cost-benefit analysis of total coverage of the building during construction and prescribes total flashing where it is economically advantageous, or where in the specifications prescribed particularly moisture sensitive materials or building solutions.<\/li>\n<li>The developer shall provide separate contracts that joint facilities for the storage of moisture sensitive materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The diagram below shows a method for the evaluation of materials (Guidance on the management of moisture in construction Institute, December 2009).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1436&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; onclick=&#8221;link_image&#8221; css_animation=&#8221;top-to-bottom&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div id=\"c2849\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-center csc-textpic-above\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<div id=\"c2764\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-center csc-textpic-below\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<div id=\"c2912\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-center csc-textpic-below\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<div id=\"c1752\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<div id=\"c1757\" class=\"csc-default\">\n<h3 id=\"c3111\" class=\"csc-default csc-space-before-25 csc-space-after-25\">\u00a0Preventions and moisture damage repairing.<\/h3>\n<p>Moisture damage can avoid if you follow the legal requirements, good building practice, planning of works and contracts, quality control.<br \/>\nPreventions and repairing moisture damage.<br \/>\nLegal requirement:<br \/>\n\u2022 Building Regulations 2010.<br \/>\nSupplier&#8217;s quality control:<br \/>\n\u2022 Production.<br \/>\n\u2022 Warehousing.<br \/>\n\u2022 Materials.<br \/>\n\u2022 Transport.<br \/>\n\u2022 Dispatch Control.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Documentation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KS-material.<\/li>\n<li>Measurements \/ logging.<\/li>\n<li>Acceptance criteria.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Humidity measurements.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Measurement of moisture in building materials with hand-held measuring instruments associated with great uncertainty. A proper assessment of the results requires knowledge of the possible sources of error and measuring equipment limitations &#8211; read more on page 218 in the SBI guidance note 224 (1st ed. 2009) and the Institute&#8217;s guidance for developers (sept. 2011).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Troxler method:<\/strong> Troxler measurements are suitable for moisture <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1643 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/skandek.dkwp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6f7c36f70b-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/skandek.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6f7c36f70b-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/skandek.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6f7c36f70b.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/>measurements on steel roofs, as capacity meters and electrical resistance gauges are disturbed by conductive materials.<\/p>\n<p>Troxler method is an isotope gauge based on a radioactive neutron source, which emits neutrons. The hydrogen in water slows down the neutrons, and the slow neutrons are detected. Troxler method is a quantitative measure; the moisture content may not read directly as water content, but as relative terms about the individually measured areas. Samples try of mineral wood will \u00a0used to calibrate the water content. The operator demands a special certificate.<\/p>\n<p>Measuring the relative humidity: It may have to make a hole in the roof <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1644 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/skandek.dkwp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6049d85b74-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/skandek.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6049d85b74-300x227.jpg 300w, https:\/\/skandek.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6049d85b74.jpg 793w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>membrane and the roof element from the outside. Visual evaluation of the moisture content of the elements and the relative humidity of the elements makes by inserting an attached sensor into the material. The instrument measures the relative humidity, the temperature of the material and the dew point. Thus, give it a good indication of whether the material is wet.<\/p>\n<p>If the relative humidity is above 95% in the material, there may be too much moisture in it. Different places should measure because only the moisture in the nearby insulation can affect the gauges.<\/p>\n<p>A water content of up to 250 g \/ m2 in the roof element will indicate as acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>The water content determined by taking a sample, drying, and weighing the sample.
